Dear Students and Advisors,
For decades, students have earned baccalaureate degrees by beginning
their education at Del Mar College and transferring to Texas A&M
University-Corpus Christi. That tradition continues as both institutions
grow and change to meet the needs of the students we serve. The
administrations and faculties at Del Mar College and Texas A&M-Corpus
Christi are committed to providing clear guidance so students can
plan their courses of study as they transfer between the two institutions.
This transfer guide outlines courses that can be taken at Del Mar
College and transferred to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to fulfill
core curriculum and undergraduate degree requirements. Students
planning to begin their studies at Del Mar College and transfer
to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to complete a baccalaureate degree
should carefully study the transfer requirements and lower-level
undergraduate course work required for the degrees they seek. The
guide is designed to be a resource in developing a course of study,
but it is not intended to replace normal academic counseling and
advising. Students should still meet regularly with academic advisors
to plan their class schedules. A list of academic advisors in various
disciplines at both Del Mar College and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
is provided in this guide.
Del Mar College and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi have
a sincere interest in working together to provide quality educational
opportunities for the students of South Texas. That spirit of cooperation
will continue as both institutions respond to the emerging needs
of students and the society in which we live. We hope this guide
helps students to accomplish their educational and career goals,
whatever they may be. That is the top priority at both institutions.
Sincerely,
Dr. Robert R. Furgason
