| Notes |
| Students who transfer to A&M-Corpus
Christi after having completed the 42 SCH core curriculum at another
Texas public institution of higher education will be considered to have completed A&M-Corpus Christi's
core curriculum. See the Catalog for more detailed information. |
A student who transfers to A&M-Corpus Christi without completing the core curriculum of the sending institution shall receive academic credit within the A&M-Corpus Christi core curriculum for each of the courses that the student has successfully completed in the core curriculum of the sending institution. Following receipt of credit for these courses, the student may be required to satisfy the remaining course requirements in the A&M-Corpus Christi core curriculum. For more information, see the core curriculum rules of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board at http://www.thecb.state.tx.us/Rules/tac3.cfm?Chapter_ID=4&Subchapter=B#4.28 |
In some cases, transfer courses may substitute for upper-division courses
to fulfill degree requirements. However, such courses do not count toward
the total number of upper-division credit hours required for a bachelor's
degree from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. |
| |
| Additional
University Requirements |
| Foreign Language |
The A&M-Corpus Christi foreign language requirement can be met by completing at least two high school credits in one foreign language or American Sign Language or by completing two semesters of study with passing grades in a single foreign language or American sign language at the college level.* Students taking American Sign Language at Del Mar College may transfer the following courses to fulfill the foreign language requirement: |
| |
SLNG 1404 American Sign Language (ASL):
Beginning I
SLNG 1405 American Sign Language (ASL): Beginning II
|
| Computer literacy |
Students may fulfill the computer literacy
requirement by transferring ITSC 1301, COSC 1301, or COSC 1415
from Del Mar College or by passing the appropriate computer literacy
test at either Del Mar College or A&M-Corpus Christi. Certain
high school courses will also satisfy the requirement. In addition,
students may satisfy the requirement by successfully completing
A&M-Corpus Christi’s COSC 1315 or any course whose course
description states that it fulfills the university computer literacy
requirement. |
| |
|
*Additional Requirement for Liberal Arts Students: Students majoring in degree programs offered by the College of Liberal Arts, other than BFA in Art and BM in Music, are required to take 6 college-level hours of a second language or earn a CLEP or AP score equivalent to one year of language study at A&M-Corpus Christi. (American Sign Language is accepted as a second language; SLNG 1404 and SLNG 1405 will be transferred for 8 hours of credit toward this requirement.) For more information about the college language requirement, see the Undergraduate Catalog. |
